Position Summary
Korro Bio is seeking a passionate and creative scientist to join our oligonucleotide discovery chemistry team and work with an enthusiastic team of highly skilled scientists in a dynamic, high growth company. The successful candidate will have a strong background in oligonucleotide chemistry and bioconjugation chemistry and independently assist in all aspects of design, synthesis, bioconjugation, purification and chemical/biophysical characterization of novel oligonucleotides to advance our RNA editing drug discovery programs.

  • Design and execute the automated high throughput solid-phase synthesis, purification and analysis of novel oligonucleotides with various chemical modifications and scales using modern synthesis platforms
  • Design and execute various bioconjugation strategies and techniques to prepare novel oligonucleotide conjugates
  • Method/process development for improved oligonucleotide synthesis and purification processes
  • Operate, maintain & troubleshoot oligonucleotide synthesis platforms, HPLCs and other scientific equipment
  • Prepare samples and perform thermal melting (Tm) experiments and analyze the data
  • Track progress, analyze, organize, and present data at internal and external meetings
  • Write standard operating procedures, maintain a well-documented electronic/laboratory notebook and internal oligonucleotide inventory.
  • Ph.D in nucleic acids chemistry/organic chemistry/medicinal chemistry with 2 – 5 years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or academic equivalent
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite
